If the stick physically fits, then it won't cause harm.
At best, it'll work great, running the stick out of spec.
At worst, the PC won't boot with the 'wrong' stick in there.

(Because, for example, it uses a 133Mhz bus, and you put 100Mhz RAM in, so it would run the processor at only a 100MHz bus, dropping it's speed accordingly.)
Or, with lots of motherboards, the processor speed and RAM speed were independent, so it would run just fine, but the memory would run at the 'lowest common denominator' speed. This is especially true of newer DDR motherboards.

Open iFile on your ipod, and click on the WiFi logo on the bottom.
A page of text will display, with a url at the end, something like "http://192.168.xxx.xxx:10000".
Enter the url into the browser on your computer.
A root directory of your ipod will appear in the browser, with an upload box.

That wall of iPads is crazy.
Because they are using the illegal tethering issue to force people off grandfathered unlimited data plans. And to collect the legal tethering fees. You just put a block on there and they've got no leverage.

- have a tendency to drop things (since it is flash based it can take beatings better than the classic can)
- have a small enough collection or can easily pick what you want and don't want.
- You don't plan on expanding your collection much.
Go with the 5th Gen Nano

- want superior battery life
- want superior capacity
- hard drive fragility isn't a issue for you
- interested in holding video (16GB nano isn't going to do much for holding video)

The only known facts so far are that it will be shown at E3 (June 15th), will be compatible with the DS and DSi, and that it will have an autostereoscopic 3D display, which is why it's called 3DS.

It seems like it'll have at least one analog stick and two different displays (a 16x9 display, probably a high resolution parallax barrier display manufactured by Sharp that might or might not be multitouch, and a 4x3 display, probably a non-3D stylus driven touchscreen), and it supposedly has very good graphics for a handheld device, possibly well above PSP levels. It might have a Virtual Handheld service that allows you to download and play Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance games. But those are only rumors.

I got a refund for Aperture when my nephew accidentally bought it whilst playing on my Mac. Strangely enough, I can still use the App, (even though I don't as I prefer iPhoto), I though Apple would have the power to remove stuff off your purchases list so you could no longer use it.
There's a risk that the :apple:-logo will break. Make sure it's protected. How much does your head weigh, btw?
I have an iPad 1st generation running OS 4.3.2 (Jailbroken). It is running perfectly, except that I have a bunch of blank icons on my home screen (see the attached images). I can delete them, but every time I install a new app from the apple store, they come back.

You have to use something like Dynamic DNS to help you find your network from the outside world and you also have to forward the correct ports on your router.

your itunes question is very easy actually copy your entire itunes folder and library to the new external drive.-> go into itunes on the MBA-> go into preferences and advanced you will see where it shows your itunes media folder location click change-> and remap it to the external driver you can only access it while plugged in but it will save a lot of space.

The UI is an ajax webpage, it's pretty fast and fairly self explanatory as long as you don't drift into the dark recesses of iscsi targets, luns and whatnot.
I set one up for a local business that needed basic filesharing/backups. Have to admit i didn't play with all the bells, but qnap support were helpful and it was plenty fast for a group of 8 office users.
I like the fact that it could remain online all the time and draw ~12 watts on standby and less than 40 when 4 drives were up and spinning. It's got a load of ports on the back so plugging in external usb/esata drives and sharing them was a piece of piss.
If you feel you have plenty of drives already and maybe only want a small proportion of your storage protected against hardware failure, have a look at it's 2 bay little brother. QNAP TS219. Does all the same just less internal disks.
