  • Tried to send you a pm, but your box is full.

Put me in line, if not first in line pending pics. I would like a machine of these specs. Consider me a serious buyer if there is no serious damage.

    There you go

I remember now - saw it in a documentary about So Cal homes and Steve wanting to tear this down.

Ugly anyways and I think he did them a favor...

  • Have any of you tried upgrading (for whatever reason, maybe coming from a 3GS) and been questioned about the unlimited plan? It's still some 14 months away for me but I was just curious what might transpire when I try upgrading and they see I got unlimited data even though I joined AT&T AFTER June.

They shouldn't care. You have it, so you should be grandfathered in regardless of when you got it

  • It would be interesting to find out if Apple had some sort of trademark on the letter 'i' when used with a computer, or communication related product. That might put Cisco in its place, being that the 'i'Mac was introduced on May 6, of 1996.

I know it would be a long shot, but since the US Patent and Trademark Office's site is impossible to search, its just an idea.

  • seriosly no Vancouver thread yet ?

    So what will it be?

Apple store vs Best buy or Futureshop ?

I want to go to the Apple store in Pacific centre but am afraid that I won't stand a chance unless I started lining up in the wee hours of morning

I like the best buy line/ticket system (and I am guessing futureshop will have something similar as well? They did for boxing day)

so where are you guys going?

  • Hi, I'm going to be ordering a 12" PB in the next couple of weeks, whether the much rumored revisions happen or not but in would be cool if they did. This will be my first Mac and I'm very excited but I have a couple of questions:

    1) What do you guys think of Bluetooth mice? I've seen some complaints about problems with them connecting and lag time between mouse and cursor. The lag-time thing would be pretty unacceptable for me so should I go with BT or just get a regular RF? (I'm thinking of the Macally BTMouse)

    2) RAM - I'm going to max out the RAM (1.25g) so is there any advantage to the RAM Apple installs on built-to-order machines that makes it worth the $400 price tag or is this just the cost of convenience? I've worked on PC's before so I wouldn't find the idea of purchasing RAM somewhere else and installing it myself all that intimidating.

    3) I'm going to be doing a lot of video editing work with this computer, I know it's not the ideal machine for it but it's what I can afford and it should do the job until I can buy something better. My question is should I get a notebook cooling stand (with the fans in it) for when I'm doing these resource intensive operations or would something like the iCurve be enough?

Thanks for reading and for your advice.

    Josh

  • I'm usually the first one to eat up 2nd versions of gaming consoles (i'd loveee the HDMI), but I've come to love the white color, especially with my E3 faceplate :D Hopefully they'll add the 65nm chip and HDMI to the white x360 soon.

  • From the One to One Terms of Service (http://www.apple.com/retail/onetoone/terms.html):

That's interesting. The way I understand it is that I can buy my Mac somewhere else and then go to Apple within 14 days to buy the 1to1. Am I understanding that correctly?

  • heh. lack of user support? more like too much support from the warez community... ;) http://mugget.com/web_images/twisted.gif

if you dont' know what really happened to it, dig up the whole story, very interesting, amusing and scary all at the same time. :D

it's probably unrealistic to expect a product that has massive appeal to the warez types not to be cracked and then freely distributed.

do you have any links to "the whole story"? I did some Google digging and I didn't get anywhere. thanks.

  • Perhaps Lion will cost relatively little, such as the Snow Leopard upgrade.

Possible, but highly unlikely. Apple did this before with 10.1 for 10.0 owners (Since 10.1 was what 10.0 shouldve been, and 10.6 is what ideally 10.5 shouldve been) - Id expect it going back to $129, since its a full release instead of an improved Snow Leopard.

it's free if they don't recognise the song but 50p if they do identify it

any single part of the song it works with, it's scary

This is a term I am unfamiliar with.
You need to get out more, and it's crucially a capital "B." :)

Nice ID there OP .. IwantItToo :p

Do you game a lot? If you dont, you better get off with base 21.5 or base 27 for screen estate

Truly, gaming is an expensive hobby. Be thankful if you hate video games, since you wont care about how many FPS you can get from your screen

My score? No doubt 11 .. oops i mean 10

    Thanks for the replies.

I have an ATT iphone and the Trim fits perfectly. I also run with my phone and it fits fine in my Belkin armband w/o removing the case. I also like that the case comes with a dock insert. So far it has been the perfect case for me

How well does the Trim protect your phone? If I dropped my iPhone on a parking lot from about 3 feet do you think it would be ok?
Also, could you tell me which Belkin armband you have?

I do like CapsuleRebel but think that it may be a bit too bulky, especially for putting into an armband.

Does anybody have any comments on the Vulcan?

    Thanks.

It would help if you clarified the following:
    Which iPod (iPod Nano?)
    "pulled in" (Plugged in?)
"sound from the ipod" (built in speaker?)
"both" (Built in speaker and headphones?)
"either device" (Built in speaker and headphones?)

I will assume you are asking if it is possible to get sound through the iPod's built in speaker and the headphones at the same time.

    The answer is no.

Hopefully not because another air traffic controller taking a snooze.

    SBSettings

This. It's so nice to be able to turn on and off bluetooth with just a swipe of the status bar. I also like seeing how much memory is free.
