Hi All
Anyone able to get splashtop to work over 3g using a mac osx or windows vista. I can connect fine over wifi but i cannot get 3g to work. i opened the ports etc... i read the tutorials at splashtop 10x but i cannot get it to work :(
i am using fios with and actiontec wireless router.
any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I went to my local Apple store the other day, and picked up an iPhone 4 and bridged the gap with my left hand. The bars dropped from full to 1.
Now you might say, "who holds their iPhone like that?" well, sometimes i actually do, i hold my iPhone 3G like that sometimes.
I understand that a few phones do the same thing, if i hold my iPhone 3G is an awkward position i can get it to drop bars as well. But the iPhone 4's weak spot is a very common way of holding a phone, that's where they went wrong.
It's pretty clear the iPhone 4 didn't have the media attention, and i believe Apple is keeping the iPhone 5 in secrecy so that they come out with a bang.

I have been using screen in the osx terminal to get serial access, using the following:
screen telnet /dev/tty.usbserial
Unfortunately I can't scrollback in screen, which makes copying long config files a process of :apple:-C, :apple:-V, and repeat. Any suggestions for native serial support in the osx terminal app WITH scrollback?
Are you sure thats the command you use? screen telnet /dev/tty.usbserial would start screen and run telnet /dev/tty.usbserial in it which I would expect to fail straight away as telnet doesn't deal with serial ports AFAIK.
What you probably want to use, assuming you are connecting over a serial line is screen /dev/cu.usbserial
If you are the only serial port user on your system it probably doesn't really matter if you use cu or tty but cu is the norm when your connecting out via serial (as opposed to waiting for something to connect in).
With that out of the way I can say that screen does have a scroll back buffer. Perhaps the easiest way to use it, assuming you are using the default key bindings, is CTRL-A ESC and then use your cursor keys to scroll around. ESC again to go back to normal mode. Screen also has copy and paste support built in but you don't need to use it if you are using a modern windowing system like OSX. Remember screen was built for use on dumb terminals where, I can assure you, it's the best thing since sliced bread but thats why it emulates its own terminal within your window.
If you do want to use something built in that does't do its own terminal emulation then there is the cu command. Depending on the permissions setup you might need to be root to run it (or use sudo) - I haven't really used it under OSX.

Lol I am a guy. Blondie was just my nickname from high school. But yeah, I was wondering if the warranty would still cover my cracks for free as well. I have a few friends that have had issues with their 2009 MacBook plastic cracking as well. So I think they may head into apple and see what they can do.

Hello. I just got an iBook G3 Clamshell from my Sister-In-Law, and I LOVE It. It is running OS 9.2 and I am curious to see the specs on this computer. I don't have much experience on OS 9. Lol. When I go to "about this computer" it says I have 96 mb. of built in memory. How much ram could I add to it, and what is the best OS on it? Could I dual boot it to run say OS 9.2.2(Current OS) and say OS 10.0. I think I can go up to 10.4.11 but I imagine that would be a painful experience. Basically if I can get some version of 10.xx I'd be a happy camper. Thanks guys!

PS-In a two week trip to Italy last summer, I was delayed by TWO transport labor strikes...according to locals, this happens regularly. You might wonder how they get stuff done if this happens so often. The short answer is that they don't.
A friend told me the same thing happened in France when they were waiting at the Louvre Muesuem. They asked someone working there why the line was so long. The worker responded causally that the workers were deciding on whether to strike. :rolleyes:

A new scanning system, a better supply chain, and automated cranes might cost a few jobs here and there, but it's an unnecessary inconvenience to many. Just called the Emeryville Apple store, and asked them if I could camp out there. They said they don't care but that I should check with Bay Street security. They gave me the number. The lady I talked to said that no camping is allowed on the sidewalk or street and police will be out that night. The time people can start lining up is at 7am. I took a look at the plist files, but couldn't find anything other than the icons that show up at the top in the middle. They're the ones with color. I did find one thing interesting, however - in the Resources folder are icons for Drop Box, as shown in the attachment. Maybe this indicates Apple purchasing Drop Box for integration into Lion. We'll have to see if this remains until the final, consumer, release.

Ok, I know there has been so much talk about a possible MBA refresh in June.. Here is my concern. I just got a MBA 11 Ultimate for a Birthday gift.. I have another week to return it to the Apple Store.. Should I wait for the refresh or just keep this one.. Backlit keyboard is not an issue and dont think it will return in the Air line again.. Being they got me the Ultimate with the 4GB Ram and 128 SSD thats good enough for me ( just using it for surfing the web, email, and some netflix ) My concern is the SandyBridge and the lesser quality graphics. And maybe a UPDATE in a SD card slot that would be nice in the refresh.. I also checked my SSD and it is the newer version Samsung with the FAST read and write speed. So Im good with that.. Any help would be great.. Im thinking to KEEP what I have for my needs! I would hate to shoot myself in the foot and return this one wait and then be pissed..
