He was always wanting to go back to India but because of the conditions of Indians, he was urged to stay back and help them, he actually went back in between and again came back to SA for a more organized effort.
The situation now is different. The Durbin Grassely bill lobbyists are basically doing what has been happening in UK where local population do not want Asian immigrants taking high paying challenging jobs in their own soil. They don't seem to care if these jobs go away because the effect will be long term and as such it is a known fact that in these days, we seldom see the immigrant community having a good cooperation, every immigrant feels that one less immigrant, it is good for him.

Not entirely true, I switched job a couple of months ago - filed for AC21. I got an acknowledgment from USCIS for the same - stating that it will be added to my file, to be reviewed when my application is processed.

Approved or soon-to-be-approved I-140 folks (like me) will get GC on time or faster and others with Maters degree will get GC in 1 or 2 years, and rest must have got admission to MS by now. and there will be some loophole to bank on which will be realized by our stupid Joe after a few years.

Why should only GC holders get this 'permission'? F1, J1, L1 and H1 people should also be able to get their parents. Also, add all their dependents, H4, L4(??) whatever. We can all live as a big family then. Or, just pack up and go back to India.

If USCIS works round the clock, working all 200 days of an year, atleast giving green card every day for 100 applicants then from now 3 to 4 years is really optimistic and certainly possible . But I'll say better for to says atleast 5 years from now.

No votes for 2003 and earlier. If this sample reflects reality, thats good news, dates should not retrogress too far back. Quite a few 2004 cases, but with the dates for them going current next month, hopefully many of these people get approved, and the queue moves ahead...

i have to travel India this month and returning US in oct on AP. What will be the validity of I-94 i am gonna get? AP expires in Jan 2008.
And what will happen if this i-94 on AP gets expired. Do i need to leave the country?

It is not the case that when the reduce H1b they need to outsource. Can any statitics tell that last 3 years H1b cap reached but because of that Outsourcing is done or US lost Compettiveness because there is no skilled workers. No evidence proves that. Still US only is having most technology companies.
If US lose 12 million illegals that will cause a problem for employers. But if 50% of H1b people leave the country because of green card issues then same or more number of people will enter by H1 or L1 or b1. That is the reason Skil bill was not able to pass in the Senate based on the fact that some abuses are in H1b. Skill bill can be delayed 5 years but impact will be less for the country. But impact will be more for immigrants. Also now H1b can be extended unlimited number of times when I140 is cleared. So really exodus will be very less compared to incoming persons. So there is no compelling reason for the country to increase gc. But for illegals there is compelling reason to act on them because illegal immigration will go uncontrolled if they leave as it is.

uscis works in funny ways (as we all know). As I stated in earlier post one case in nebraska i know got rejected and they stated that the appeals decision wasn't precedent. The texas cases received rfe's but got approved based on the decision.
Just yesterday, I received 140 denial from texas where they didn't even discuss the decision and just picked on that bachelors was three year degree.
Same case was with me. They picked on my 3 year bachelor degree. Can i do appeal after 2 years ?
