I agree with you 100%. I think Anti-Immigrants like NumbersUSA and Tom Tancredo is better than USINPAC. For Anti-immigrants atleast we know where they stand and we know what to expect from them. usinpac is the worst kind of disease for the community where they can trick you anytime and you will not even know when they are stabbing you at your back. Yes, the EB2I pre-Apr 2003 approvals have slowed down considerably, USCIS cannot keep clearing backlogs forever if there aren't many backlogs to begin with.
Now they will spend the entire Nov without too many EB2-I cases to deal with and then Dec visa bulletin see a long jump. Its a waste of precious processing time.

i would really discourage ppl who are not insiders of nebraska uscis or whatever to scare ppl from filing eb2 or converting to eb2 from eb3. how do you know what nebraska is doing?
did not mean to discourage, just be prepared because after the 140 is rejected, you have to start all over again and you lose time in the process. BTW, ask any lawyer, and you will hear the same about Nebraska.

On similar lines, I believe it is logical to asume that Sen. Cornyn, who basically is against the amnesty part of the CIR and an Republican will try to get his bill included as an amendment. My guess also is that in an effort to placate him and get his grudging approval for the entire bill, his amendment will pass the vote without much opposition, especially since he also has Sen. Lott (who I believe is the Dep. Maj. Leader) as a co-sponsor. Additionally, if the CIR were to pass, it would be almost impossible for any other legislation concerning immigration to pass this year or the next which also is an incentive for Sen. Cornyn to get this included in the CIR if he is serious about the SKIL bill.
This being said...nothing is as it appears and only time will tell...but, even if the bill is not included, I still believe that the CIR is better than what we currently have. I just saw the [previous post and it actually includes Sen. Cornyn in the same list as Hagel, Martinez, McCain.... wow :)

I don't think it will make a huge amount of difference. The visa loss is due to lack of manpower in processing applications. Now there will be even more applications and presumably no extra hands to approve them.

When we conducted D.C. rally, there were roughly 1500 people attended. Each member has his/her own reason for not attending the rally.

I'm not sure about the usefulness of this poll? If you look at the percentage of people applied on 2nd July, it is close to 70%. Assuming some error in the polling percentage, this poll indicates that atleast 50% of people have appplied already on 2nd July. As per the press reports, USCIS has received around 55000 applications on 18th July. That means another 55000 people only are going to apply by 17th Aug making a total of 110,000 plus minus 20,000. I do not believe this number and the poll. Any arguments here?
If bribery and corruption are major issues, why not start the "anti-corruption" political party? It will likely be small, but it may become the "king maker" one day and have a real influence on policy. An example is the "Action Democratique" party in Quebec.
