I have registered on USCIS website for I-485, AP and EAD. When I logged on today I saw last updated date modified to 11/25/2007.
Email notification for all the registerd cases is turned on. I did not receive any email notification for the updates

Sorry forgot to provide some more details which i should have...NO i have not filed 485 as my PD is not current... my PD is Nov 2007. new company is saying they will start the GC only after 6 months....
SO looks like better to hang on to current desi company and hope for best on the H1 extension and any POE if i am traveling outside

I am planning to go outside US for three weeks, I am planning to enter using AP (I485 is pending), my H1B extension is pending (no receipt). my H1 is expired.
The questions are :
1. With above conditions, will everything be ok when I come back esp with my H1B extension process ? can I get H1B approval ? this is my fourth extension.
2. Do I need to surrender my expired I-94 at POE ?

I feel your case will be OK, they are just doing the PIMS verification. I got my H1B validated in Munich last year. (read my experience on murthy site). So be patient and you'll get it successfully.

My advice place the new approval as a bookmark on the current visa page when presenting the passport at the counter. This almost forces them to consider the new approval, also provide a copy of your I-797. Check the date before leaving the counter and politely ask for it to be corrected if wrong.

It is a bad idea. It will allow people to misuse it. Once they are pre-approved they may not care about staying in status. They will not change jobs in their area of work. You may find an engineer doing some other profession. How will something like this help USA. We should stop seeing everything from - How it will help me. I am planning on changing to another company but I dont have the labor certification details. All I know is, it is Software Engineer and have salary details and some basic job requirements. My I-140 is approved. If I move to another company on EAD, and if I get an RFE, how can I provide the details of same/similar employment?
