I think Adam Iser and Evan Schoenberg and the rest of the Adium gang deserve some serious props here....outside of the apple aps, firefox, and MS Office, Adium is my most used piece.
If it was a 30 day wait I may be persuaded but to wait until September is too much time not enjoying the Sandy Bridge iMac.
Good. Aladdin reminds me of all the early Mac OS's like 8.5 and 9 for some reason. They definitely needed an update.

I ordered online, and because of the issues with not being sure whether MacMall is going to ship it and have it to me on Friday, I'm still teetering with cancelling the order, going to the store, buying it with my student discount and getting the free T-shirt.I'll be at the Palo Alto Store by about 2PM with my copy from a nearby college bookstore that I'm getting for $69 before 2PM. That should put me near the front of the queue.
I go to the store for the party social part and get in line even though I am not going to buy it there so I can get inside the store to play with it on one of the Macs inside. I'll have my old G4 PB with me and will be installing it while I'm in the queue from the copy I buy earlier at a college store nearby.

Its also the buggiest thing on the OS, it disables typing after a few minutes, doesnt want to load web pages some times, and everytime you skip around in a flash video it starts it as a new download without killing the old one meaning youll end up with a bunch of FLV's being downloaded at the same time killing your bandwidth and having your video stopped on sites that dont allow multiple connections.
I agree. While I love how fast it is, I keep having scrolling issues when there are multiple tabs open. I have to reload a tab in order to get scrolling to come back. Anyone having a similar issue?

wondering if anyone other than me has specific reasons for folding. have not seen a thread or discussion, so thought i would ask. my reason is my sister that i lost to cancer, hence my id; 4 Joan N. A. i couldn't stand to do nothing, and this seemed like a wonderful way to do something and put lots of old hardware back to work at the same time.
hope i didn't ask a wrong question. just curious.

you can also select an image, right click it and choose "set wallpaper" (2nd option from the bottom.)
I second Amazon. I've gotten (usable) CDs for 10 cents. People just get rid of their cds for hardly any money.
Samsung gives 3 years even for OEM.I have never used a Samsung drive, nor do I know anybody who has. Do they actually make their own? Or do they get drives relabeled from another company?
I am too new at CS5 to be of much help, but I wonder if this would be of any help to you (?):
a. Take a good quality RAW photo of the picture, and open this RAW image in Camera Raw as a Smart Object. See if you can adjust the area that is too light (left of the photo).
b. Now, double-click on the image shown in the Layers panel, which in turn will open a layer of the image in Camera Raw. Now adjust the dark side of the image, and then click on "Done." The result is two layers blended into one.

It seems that we will have to wait for the official word from Apple. I hope that it isn't closed for good though.
AppCleaner will uninstall every part of a program, including the oddball things that don't get uninstalled when you drag it to the trash. And it's free.

First off, calm down.
Secondly, do you have anything on the HDD that you need backed up?
If you do not, just put in your original discs that came with the computer and hold down the C key while starting up to boot off the disc. Then, use Disk Utility once the Installer loads to format your HDD and reinstall your OS.

i bought one for my mbp (2011) from monoprice (minidisplay to hdmi) and it does not work with my dell monitor. :(

That's my best design so far :o I saw this guy on techtv who happened to take 8 plasma displays (his work gave them to him for free) and a mac mini to make virtual windows in his house. Pretty awesome concept. Having guests around, hearing them say "woh... your neighbourhood is beautiful", when really you live in apartment up against a brick wall :p
