  • By the time you've gone through all that, the girl's got up and left! You're much better off to take one of your earbuds out and put it in her ear. Then you're connected with about two feet of headphone cable.

    hahaha awesome :D

  • No, You can run OS X on non Macs but not legally under the EULA because currently Apple only sells OS X as an OEM with it's hardware or as an upgrade for systems that already come with a Mac OS.
So what. You can buy an upgrade package of winXP and install it on any computer well over 5 years old that had win98 installed on it. You didn't need to install WinMe, Win NT, or Win2000.

You are legally only allowed to install the stand alone OS X 10.4 software on systems that originally came with the Mac OS. It's an upgrade.
Yes, the point is that Apple is trying to prevent people from running OS X on non-Mac computers. End of story.

  • I suggest a thread on vehicle selection. My new bud, iliketyla, and I are on the case. He, iliketyia, has a scooter and I have a well equipped SUV. My nano is hooked into the sound system his, I suspect, is hooked into ear buds.

So, my dream car is the Audi A8. How about you?

Haha! Yes sir, got some Skull Candy earbuds that provide premium sound quality.

My dream car is Eleanor from Gone In Sixty Seconds.

  • I really want to see how Leopard is going to turn out. There has been so much hype surrounding WWDC, I really hope WWDC is as good as everyone rumors it to be.

There have been way too many posts on WWDC...It's making me sick..

A Banner isn't going to give away SQUAT! We must wait until the keynote and any other possible leaks hours before the keynote to actually know what happens.

  • In other news, Adobe Systems Incorporated feels that an income of $775M is just not adequate enough for their regular money pit parties. While I cannot/do not condone piracy; Adobe definitely knows how to alleviate a pirates guilt on the issue.

  • This is the last of the mythical creatures shots. The Rok was another one too big for the frame. I did take one wide-angle of the whole thing, but it lacked the drama of this one. And look! I finally have a bird picture to share! ;)

I have dinosaur fossil pictures from this same day, and I also have a series of pictures of Lilburn, GA old town (suburb where I live that is near Atlanta). Anyone have a preference?

  • Never buy a mac for hardware...Because they do not have the best.

    ROFLMAO!

That's as funny as the RIM CEO defending the PlayBook by saying email "really isn't a core element."

Also, it's nice to know that us iOS users are unaffected by the latest Flash exploit for Android.

Not bad for not being the "best" because Windows and Android is better right?

  • I was really thinking about an iMac, but I'm considering a Sony Vaio laptop with an IPS monitor from a 3rd party. I'll definitely wait to see what Apple comes out with this week, though.

Whenever anyone posts on here that they're thinking of going Windows, a lot of people either shout TROLL! or say: fine, goodbye.

I still feel like it's a shame to leave Macs behind. Still, again I have to say that Windows 7 offers a lot more to the Mac-learned creative community than any other version from Microsoft.**

**Other than maybe Windows 2000 pro in its heyday... nice solid system that got out of your way.

Then why are you not buying the iMac?

    From engadget

"Apple has just recalled 1.8 million iBook and PowerBook laptop batteries, 1.1 million of those in the US and 700,000 abroad"

  • A study was done which showed that since the advent of online dating reported cases of people on the autistic spectrum increased; it's thought that the people who spent most of their time online were able to find partners and procreate, without having to do the whole rigmarole of courting, flirting, etc.

A little off topic, but that study sounds so horribly biased and based on such seriously flawed logic on so many levels, that I fine myself baffled that someone could even come up with such a conclusion. I'm sure they ignored the age of people dating online, if they were still even able to procreate (since online daters are usually older), potential problems with having children at an older age (such as genetic mutations, premature labor), other reasons for the increase in autism (such as increased awareness or more refined diagnostic testing), environmental factors, geez the list of confounders is endless.

  • ...So it looks like the forthcoming Mac Pro's will have the same form factor as the previous Power Mac G5. Can't say that I'm against that decision - but I was secretly hoping for a new look. My Rev A Power Mac Dual 2Ghz is still doing just fine under my desk. In fact, it's gonna take something pretty crazy to get me to pull out the credit card for a new box. Nothing's got me that excited yet

  • The exploit is apparently in the device driver, and so its more of an issue with Atheros than with Apple. I mean, a vulnerability is a vulnerability, and it still needs to be fixed, but the compromised code is most likely not Apple's at least.

I just bought one of the silver ones and I really like it. It feels just like a mini to touch and the packaging reminds me of the sort of boxes you got Times watches in. It's syncing up all my music as I type :)

    Picturreeeeeeeeeeeeess!:D

I feel it is highly likely we will see a new tiny laptop from Apple at some point in 2007.

Intel will be releasing Merom next spring, AND an ultra-low voltage version for tiny laptops.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2#Merom_2

There used to be more detail there but it seems to have gone.

Still baffled as to why Apple stopped the 12'' PB, but maybe they felt they wouldn't sell enough in 9 months to recover the costs of designing an intel core version, before needing a major redesign for the 2007 tiny laptop.

Hi Doctor Q- The "I've got blisters on my fingers" is part of "Helter Skelter," and only heard at the end of the STEREO version, and not a separate song. Also, "The End" is over 2 minutes. The part you are referring to is probably the part at the end of the song... "and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.." However, the song has the long guitar solos before getting to that part, and the intro is part of "The End."j
You are correct about where these were on Beatles albums, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm referring to the VH1 Storytellers album where Ringo is interviewed. His admission that his was the voice saying "I've got blisters on my fingers" is 15 seconds long but treated as a track on the album and his comment about the end of the interview (not the song named "The End") is a 4-second track. Apple charges 99 cents for each.

Same here. Guess a trip to Vegas is in order.

Sadly, Vegas will cost you more for a week than SF (if you want to do it "right").

Is that why Primark never display it on the labels of their clothing?

There is a legal requirement when importing to show the country of manufacture, BUT if a company changes the character of the product it imports it qualifies as made in USA.

Depending on the product the manufacturer then lists something like Made in USA with some parts from (put in Country)

Peopel don't rea dthat stuff anyway.

    They read:

Today only $ 1.99. Buy one get one FREE!

and then throw the packaging away.
