What else do we want, when we have people willing and taking efforts to go to DC sacrificing their personel time, family and spending their own money. Time has come for everyone to come forward and contribute money. They along with QGA are meeting the senators.

Due to the economic downturn there aren't many companies sponsoring GCs for employees. I doubt it would be more than 20 to 30k per year from now. This leaves 100-110k visas available every year for retrogressed countries like india and china

I have applied for H1B with new surname in this May and change of Status with that I-94.

Now I got H1 approval and COS approval with my middle name taken as first name and new surname.

I landed in Canada in April 2005 so I have until April 2008. However if I decide to do this I may move by Jan 2008 latest ( probaly earlier - If you are from a warm state I would urge you never to move to Canada in winter because your life will be hell. So please be generous enough to contribute to IV - we need a lot of funds in these times when we really needs help

Is there anyway IV can help people in CP queue? Issuing EAD for those CP filers who are already in the US on work VISA - is that even a possibility? I know it is not possible today. The underlying H1B can even be revoked upon issuing EAD. I am not sure about the number of beneficiaries should something like this happen.

Do we need original I-485 receipt to file EAD/AP? Also do we need original receipt while going outside of US. I have scanned copies of my receipt notices. If absolutely required then I'll ask my attorney to send me the original receipts.

I need your help on this. My cousin is running this small IT company in india and he mentioned that when US client sends their money to India via Pay Pal or some secure money transfer , they are charging them 4 % of transfer amount.

1) If they (cousin's company) open an bank account in USA and utilize this to transfer the money to indian bank account - Would they still need to pay US tax as money is being deposited into the US account?

3)If US client utilize remit2india, ICICI to transfer money which I highly doubt

can someone explain it again in simpler terms ..does the above mean that if a 485 is pending then that person is not out of status (or unlawful presence) till a decision is made on the pending 485 ?
if you re-enter the US on an AP, they give you an I-94 with teh same date of expiry as your AP expiry (within 1 year). AILA was wondering if USCIS could come out with a memo clarifying that essentially that I-94 has no meaning, if you are in the US after it expires, you are still within status (because you have a 485 pending, and that gives you status until the decision is made on it)
