So what you are saying is that INS and IRS systems are connected?
IRS can go back 3 years unless they have evidence that you understated your income by more than 20%. There are some depreciation issues that may allow them to go back further.
As far as I know, IRS and INS (USCIS) do not share information with each other. USCIS is under the Dept of Homeland Security and IRS is under Department of the Treasury.
I actually read a newscoverage in California couple of years ago where INS sued the IRS for not providing information about the illegal immigrants. INS claimed that they failed to obtain information from the IRS about the illegal immigrants who were filing tax returns using TIN numbers. If I remember correctly, INS lost the lawsuit and IRS was ordered not to release information on people to the INS.
Just to clarify a little more about TIN and SSN is that you cannot get a SSN unlress you have some sort of work authorization (Such as H-1, EAD or even F-1 working/willing to work on-campus) where you can get TIN numbers from IRS and they don't want to know your visa/residency status. So, if you are living illegally in the U.S., you can still get TIN number and file tax returns.

I have sent my application for ead renewal on 05/03 to phoenix lockbox. The application was rxd. and signed for on 05/04.
However i have not seen my checks cashed yet nor received any information from USCIS.
has anyone else experienced delays with phoenix lockbox?
What steps can i take now?

once bill becomes law, USCIS will have to implement it immediately, else they will be breaking the law. there probably is a way for them to go to court and ask for more time by citing administrative delays.

If H-1B is denied, then you are out of luck. For that reason, I have mentioned that file H-1B premium, and join the new job after H-1B approval and you will have "peace of mind" in that case.
Also you have replied me that H1B is not for speculative job.If it is true then what is the need of H1 Change of employer.Can you inform USCIS to remove this option.

I took an infopass appointment on 12/13 and met with an IO. All the IO did was to e-mail the service center for FP. I now see two soft LUDs on 12/15 and 12/18 on my I-485. I don't know if these are related to the generation of FP notice or something else.

if you use the poj, and you are lucky to get hold of IO at the office where your 485 is pending, then they have the authority to create new fp notice and they can also check whether your name check is cleared or not. they will also give you the dates as to when the name check was initiated (this is usually 1 week after your notice date).

My boss recently changed and the work environment is not good anymore (never imagined this would happen), I am in a constant pressure and no job security. It's a shocker in a fulltime state job.
We bought a house last year needless to say that the prices have fallen. We are now in a dazed state as we just realised we don't have any savings, whatever we had, we made bad choices - house, 2 cars (They looked good at that time though) and put about 10% on the house.
We were planning on to invest all our savings in the house as we recently paid off our two cars and no other debts. But after reading some posts here on the housing and investment market. I am not sure if I want to put everything in the house, having my job at risk and no GC yet.
Being a novice in fianancial matters, need advice.
Appreciate your thoughts on this.

When there are so much negative opinion, instead of chasing this avenue, let us all focus on what is tangible (such as connecting with media and building up public support). If by chance he goes against the legal immigration too, then we burn candle from both ends. The risk is not worth it.

I have written to USCIS director and Chairperson of the immigration sub-committee in the House Zoe Logfren about the plight of EB3-I applicants, I have metioned it is mainly because thousands of 245I(Asylum) people were given Green cards from this category. There should be some kind of relief for us. More people write her or other congressmen/Senators it will get more attention. As far as I know 90% of the Lawmakers doesn't know about 245 I cases...
