What I don't like about Windows 7 is the registry.
Realistically how often have you needed to go into regedit to alter the registry. At my company they restrict access to the registry and it has not impacted my users one bit.
I maintain about 30+ windows servers and while I have needed to go into the registry on occasion its a rarity. While I agree that the usage of the registry is a weak point for windows, its not as bad as some people make it out.
Apple has similar issues that need to be fixed from the terminal, like rebuilding the launchservices database.

Kind of like using a MBP Front Row Remote at an Apple Conf and switching people's displays to Front Row?
Right now, we have a 2k sqft vault lined end to end w/rolling racks filled w/tape and have effectively run out of room for anything else. That represents 10 years of 24/7 programming. Now imagine archives that are 50 - 100 years old and you've got serious issues to contend with. Our whole operation is going to move to tapeless in the next 5 years. If I go out now and shoot native 720/24P on my HVX, one hour of footage costs me 32G's worth of drive space. 24x32=768Gigs per day!!! For me, those drives cannot come fast enough.
Also, all those films that are coming out on DVD now were made from 35mm prints which allows for the beautiful image quality you're getting on your home theatre. This is why we need a digital format with enough integrity to move into the future with.

Just spoken to the Apple Store in the UK (hosted in Ireland I guess from the accent!).
Apple haven't confirmed but they strongly suspect their will be similar discounts to those offered in the US.
Guess I'll have to be patient and order in Friday!

So, please don't take everything I typed and generalize it, because it's not for everyone. You personally look into the problem, ask questions about what's going on.. that is good !!, some other don't have your patience and throw in the typical sentence " Go learn fundamentals and come back" as soon as they see a basic mistake. So Patience I think is the right word to describe what's been going on here. It is actually a virtue and a basic one for a teacher to have.
Back to the code, here is a photo of my connections (ignore canceBigtimer). What you say is true I don't know how NSTimer works entirely , just some parts, I realize that and it is one of the reason I postpone my timer for a future update (need to study it).
You mention my two global variables, It makes sense that the timer does not stop because the variables are outside the method that creates the timer. is that whats going on?
I have two timers, because, like I said.. I don't have full knowledge of timers. I know now that 1 timer is enough, even if I use two timers and start them at the same time, the log only shows 1 loop and the countdown in separate labels show e.g. 59 in one and 58 in another and so on.
I got confuse because some other forums told me that I should make 2 timers.

This code is actually from a follow up tutorial in one of my books to learn NSTimer, the name of the book is "iPhone SDK Programming, A Beginner's Guide ", after the book explains everything and the code is working, it doesn't tell you how to stop it, reset it or add minutes to it, and that is why I wanted to complete what was left from this book.

Whoever stole it is still going online with it although they have not played a game. I had the Monster HD cables for the system and they only work on an HD TV. You hook it up to an SD TV and you get no video at all. I think they keep powering up the system and trying to make it work but have no clue what they are doing.

If parents live there with the teenager(s), just ask them if their kid just got a 360 and if they would mind if you compared serial numbers to your receipt, since its showed up in range of your wireless network.

Apple's DRM reportedly violates the Norwegian Copyright Act because the songs can only be played on Apple's iPod.

There was speculation that Apple would withdraw iTunes from France if the law came into effect. My friend, I hate to hurt your feelings, but I have been all over this planet and talked to people that would love to do nothing but kill Americans. I have no problems giving up a little (and it is little) piece of freedom to ensure the plane I board is as safe as we can get it. If that means they search a 6 year old then so be it. I'm also fairly certain that the government is not trying to take away our freedoms. We have had our heads stuck in the sand for years over terrorism thinking it would never happen here. Now, it has and at first people were blaming he government for not reacting soon enough... "How could you let this happen to us!" Then they implement some control to plug a rather large hole and the reaction is "you are taking away our freedom!"
You can't have your cake and eat it too. The TSA is not the best solution but it is the only reasonable one at this time. Like I said, quit complaining and come up with a better solution then send it to your congressman otherwise you are just making everyelses lives miserable who have to listen to you whine.

In an age where architect and design firms are just starting to apply to Apple's design principles to the building of homes, Steve Jobs has gone and designed the iPhone of houses.
WTH? Whoever wrote this clearly doesn't have any idea about what has been going on in architecture in, oh, the past 150 years. I met Peter Bohlin last year and we got to talking about his design strategies. He's been doing similar work throughout his career, even before BCJ (then Bohlin Powell) was founded in 1965. Check out Japanese architecture from the past 1,500 years.
As an architecture major and architectural history minor I find this comment to be Jobs-worship. Thinking that nobody else could come up with the concept of a simple and sophisticated design is just asinine.
My rant aside, I love the floor plan and can't wait to see some elevations/perspectives. Go BCJ!
