I dont think that the per-country cap on immigration is "Unconstitutional." It may not seem fair to those affected but it does not violate any article of the US consititution. The country has a right to regulate its borders; that is its right. We should try to argue that the policy is counter-productive and harmful - not that it is illegal.

What these guys are really trying to achieve is bring back the good old days of high billing rates. I guess they see that the desi consulting company is responsible for driving down the quality as well as rates and salaries. Verify with another lawyer also, basically your experience starts only after you graduate (after getting your degree and not after finishing college ie say you completed ur degree in may 2000 and recieved your degree in Dec 2000, your experience prior to Dec 2000 may not count)

How do you feel if some of your mentioned action emotionally push a distressed person off the cliff. Think about it a bit !!!

The most of the guys posting in this thread is not going to vote. Even I think, we all do not have our names in electoral list. There is no sense in arguing who is best or who should be next PM, sitting in US. Furthermore, most of the educated, urban voters will never go to polling booth in hot summer to stand in line to do their duty as a citizen.. Indian�s election of their representatives is fundamentally a show of money and muscle power. Election in India is just a business. It is just investment of money by political parties with the help of capitalists and their lobbyist to get the vote from rural, uneducated, divided voters across the nation. All parties are corruptive, communal, divisive, plays vote bank politics. No exceptions! (whether it is Congress, BJP, communists, BSP, SP, and countless regional parties). One thing I can say or compare about Congress and BJP. Congress is the only party has responsible for bringing both good (economy, growth, education,) and bad (corruption and countless other) thing to India. BJP has not done any good thing to India sofar, only it brought bad things to India (divisive, corruption).

He does not have long term independent vision, and strong leadership skills. He was widely accepted by all part of the country, as he has no controversial issues.

He is a good speaker, crowd puller. He is a typical Indian politician. He has leadership skills. He does not have any significant record/achievement to back his claim for PM (either as a ex-minister or politician). For example, he has not done anything to improve the national security when he was a union home minister. He has involved in controversial issue like Babri Majit, and Ram temple issue. He also does not have long term vision, ideas on economy, poverty elimination etc..

this depends on the number of approvals and not on the number of applications received. Even if there are tons of applications received, unless there are enough approvals happening simultaneously, dates would not retrogress in the middle of the month.
USCIS had approvals before dates moved. USCIS knows the number of such approvals.

There is the freedom to change jobs and apply for a new TN each time. There is no 6 year or any sort of time cap - TN can be renewed indefinitely..a TN only costs $50 to renew for each year and can be filed without an attorney by mail. No need to physcially go anywhere.

That is what I think based on talking to multiple people and that is what we see from the % participation of people for various fruitful effort put forth by IV. Most of them say they do not care if they get GC or not. In their heart of heart they may but not too much.
Other reason I can think of is -- There could be doubt in minds of many people of IV strength. The day IV gets some success, people will rally behind IV for a while. And that is the scenario outside world too. See the stock price. If the company is doing good, stock price goes up. The day one bad news comes, stocks falls down. Take the presidential election. You can very well make out that contribution by company or people is proportional to candidate wins. If you are loosing, contribution will dry out very fast. I am not saying that candidate will not have supporter but that would be less in number. Take N.T. Rama Rao case. The day Naidu ditched him and others followed him, no officials gave importance to NTR.

Please do not misunderstand my response to your earlier post, I was in no way pointing fingers at you but was trying to clear common misconception that IV must not be looked at like a software company doing good or bad at shares.

Per US DOS July 2007 Visa Bulletin that came out on June 2007, all Employment based categories were going to be "Current" starting from July 2nd. Based on this information, many of legal immigrants like me, with approved labor certifications, worked day and night, spent enormous time and money to prepare our applications for filing Adjustment of status (AOS) application (I-485). This involves, going through a medical checkup, getting shots for required immunizations and paying hundreds of dollars in lawyer fees.
The applications were all ready to be filed but against all odds, DOS issued a notice in the morning on July 2nd, informing that no AOS applications will be accepted. The visa bulletin has basically been revised and no employment based visa numbers are available for any legal worker. It states that visa numbers are no longer available until October 1st when the FY 2008 would start. This is such a waste of so much money and efforts from the legal workers, some of whom were waiting for more than 3 years to file for their AOS applications. They finally saw a hope and prepared themselves, but even before the day came, their hopes were taken away from them. It is amazing how the DOS and USCIS can make such a big mistake in their predictions about the visa number availability.
The visa bulletin for June had moved the visa availability dates (referred to as priority dates) by more than a month for certain categories. A number of applications for AOS were therefore expected to be filed in the month of June. However, DOS still calculated an abundance of visa numbers and therefore moved all the dates for all categories to "current" for July. And now this morning, the visa bulletin has been revised to make visa numbers unavailable to everyone. This does not look right and begs for an investigation. The whole system of generating cut-off dates is not defined and there is every reason to believe that the dates are manipulated to serve certain hidden agendas.
Please do a news story into this matter to help legal workers who are in USA for many years. Some of us have been working in the US for more than 10 years and still do not have permanent residency. We are paying our taxes and are law abiding members of the society. So we request President to intervene in this matter.
