Here's what i can add - my ead too has been pending for 4 months now.!
I went in for a second infopass this morning (14 degrees F - 5 block walk from where i parked.! I almost had a facial nerve plasy from the biting cold!). Anyway after looking into her system - the IO told me that the A # on my 485 receipt has not been linked to the 765 & 131 applications.! So she was busy typing so stuf for like 2-3 mins and then said that since my 485 was filed intially and the 765 & 131 were sent in after a month or so - hence this generated a miscommunication between both these sets of applications.
So since the A# is not tagged to the EAD & AP applications in thier system - i guess it seems like i have not filed for the EAD & AP at all.! Makes sense.?? I guess..!!
Anyway she was kinda nice....she was like... don't worry...etc..the last thing she said after i said thanks was "good luck - hang in there"..Imagine that coming from USCIS IO..!! Lets wait and see now if at all there is any progress on my case.!

We called USCIS before going there and were told to go there and then they would call the main center (NE) to "initiate" an interim EAD processing. Yet when we went there, the supposed to be supervisor told me that I was misinformed. She started bi*****g about how the USCIS customer service has been outsourced to a 3rd party company and they only read from old documents thus misleading people , blah, blah, blah...
Another officer who called my wife called NE center and gave them the A number and it did not show up. Reason: Although my 485 and EAD/AP were all sent to NE, for some reason, they shipped my 485 to TX thus leaving my EAD/AP without an A number. Their system is so screwed that they don't even have an option to amend that and put a note on my EAD/AP saying that the 485 is sitting in TX. Bottomline: We were sent back. We again called the USCIS and have initiated a "service request" to expedite. We will have to wait and see where it takes us. In the meantime, my wife is in a limbo as she is getting interview calls but is no sure what to tell them as her H1 is about to expire.

You can subscribe to CRIS email for status updates. But sometimes you may not get the email. The letter may directly go to your ex employer's Attorney.
Even if you get a NOID, it may go to your ex employer's Attorney. We all know this employer attorney nexus - they are ready to screw you.

How about tourist visa? you can get multiple entry for 10 years, but I guess no of months you can stay in India is a question. I am applying for my son too, both of us hold Indian passport, what you guys suggest? go for OCI?

I had got a reply back from Another senatoer Saxby CHambliss (R-Ga) for the same letter when i had sent it last month during the initial campaign. He misunderstood the letter and replied back in regards to increase in H1B Quota. So i replied back to his email and clarified on that and pasted the content of the letter again.

Basically, if your 485 is pending for more than 180 days and you lose job, then technically you can start using EAD and move on using AC21.

My intention/question here is if an applicant is on H1 (most of the cases 5th or 6th yr of H1) and then loose the job and until he finds other job (has EAD but never used it) the applicant does not have payroll running during the break. then technically is he ok or does he has to maintain h1 status or does EAD protect him.

Thanks for clarification. I still disagree with you. Media outlets do measure the intensity of the issue but not by amount of SPAM they receive in e-mails. From my personal experince in talking to a journalist, if you send them an e-mail regarding the issue they have published they will definitely defend their point or refute yours and may even look at the issue from your point of view but in all cases they will reply. Now if you want to bring an issue to their attention all you need is take their article and simply put your perspective on it. It will have a far greater impact if it comes as a collective voice of an Organisation such as IV. That's why I originally questioned our approach of spaming them by sending 1000's of e-mail with the same issue. It doesn't bring much to the table. Right ? That's precisely the reason why all organisations have a media relations person who represents the collective view of the entire organization and manage the press releases and all contacts with media.
Any idea how many emails news media outlets recieve? Do you remember the emails Jim Carey reads in Bruce Almighty? he hee .. Some thing of that sort, if not of that magnitude. By sending more emails, we are making the media cognizant of the fact that its not one person but hundreds of thousands of people. Also, these emails are mostly read by interns and they sort them( In big outlets atleast) The more the emails on same issue from diff people with diff body with same bottom line story gives us a better chance. Most people has very misconception about "parole". It is not a free/flexible travel document like visa. As a AOS applicant, one should not leave US till it is approved/denied. One MUST present in US during AOS. The parole is only for any emergency purpose; which is similar to prisioners. As USCIS is flexible, in approving the AP, the people don't realize the travel limitation of AP. They are travelling on AP for vatation/fun etc.. As per law, the AP is not intended for it. The CBP officer was right in asking the legitimacy of the travel. The AP document clearly says it is based on "humanitation" admission to retrun after an emergency travel.

They hushed up and approved my EAD in 20 days. Why ???? 'cos So they don't hit Jun'30 and give 2 years. They wanted to milk another 680 from me so they hushed up and sent me the 1 year EAD in 20 days.
Can you pl. share some more info.
