I'm on H1 and I also bought a house 2 year ago, though would like to sell my house , it's a great idea as I can sell my house easily if that strategy worked out. Then I can buy a house again in order get a GC quickly. ;)

IV understands that removing just the country quota will impact ROW badly if visa numbers are not increased in tandem. Hence you always see the three points being proposed together. These 3 have to go together. A compromise between ROW and oversubscribed countries.
But some ROW members keep trying to split the movement by opposing removal of country quotas ( which is point 2 in IV agenda) at every possible opportunity. Real way to build a coalition is through compromise. And in a compromise you can't get all you want. Don't expect the majority to heed all your demands.
Be a little appreciative of the sufferings of others. If you think a little extra time you need to spend in the queue is turning you so angry, what goes in the mind of a person who has to spend twice or thrice as much time in the same queue, for no fault of his/hers?

It also requires changes in the statute which is almost impossible to happen because the legislators, either Dem. or GOP, will not agree to removing the cap. So let's be realistic.
The best solution is to recapture unused visas from previous years and increase the quota per year.

A million thanks for this website. I have a unique problem and I humbly request your expert advice on my situation.
I am a physical therapist from India who got 221(g) after H1B interview. 221g tells me to take and pass the physical therapy licensing exam before they could issue the visa. I have Visa Screen certificate from CGFNS, educational equivalency report and approval letter to take NPTE exam(licensing exam) from physical therapy state board of Maryland.
The problem is that, licensing exam is offered only in US mainland and to take the exam they should have given me H1B visa. I even submitted to the consular officer, USCIS memo on H-1B Specialty Occupation Licensure Requirements dated March 21, 2008 regarding 1 year temporary approval, still she gave me 221g.

This makes sense, exempt those who can buy a house or continue to own a house from the current VISA bulletin. Is this feasible, who knows!?!

The crisis in united states is not just housing bubble but much more than that. I am not sure if this initiative (linking greencard and purchasing home) will find much traction in government or in medai given the complexity of the mess.

Analysts are already up in arms arguing that United states have to take massive debt (assuming China and arab world is ready to give) or they have to print currency to finance their bailouts.

The dominant parameter should be the change in the US demographics and the needs of the US economy...Millions of baby boomers are gonna start retiring soon....The cap has to increase keeping that in mind....

Hey...No one can predict anything about Aug and Sept. You just have to wait till you get your LC and then check where dates are and file accordingly. There is nothing you can do about it, so relax and don't worry too much.

Government intervention will stabalize the credit crisis and more deserving people with good credit score will be able to secure loans/mortgages. If the government bail-out doesn't work, well, gc and any related discussion will be irrelevant. So we just have to expect (or shall I say assume) that bail-out will work, which will stablize the markets, that means this is the bottom of housing crisis i.e. lowest prices available to buy a house. There couldn't be a better times to start an American dream....
although i wonder if there are people out there who really want to purchase a house in this financial crisis ?!?!
This is a great time to buy a house right now. The prices are the lowest. Government intervention will stabalize the credit crisis and more deserving people with good credit score will be able to secure loans/mortgages. Thanks Gopi for such a sane post, I second what you said below , a person has to be ready mentally to be approached for any business and if they are not ready then the same conversation which they might find helpful at the time when he is mentally ready would look like as a harassment when they are not mentally ready.
and that is what BWW is not doing, beside all what you said i also believe they lie to you a lot as it happened with me on several occasions, they would lie about the credentials aof theirs and theirs upline because they think people are more open to hear from persons who are more successful and thats why they lie about education and job etc..
One of the Diamonds came to my house last year and he projected that he is going to be my best friend even though i said Yes or NO.
He came to my house several times,he would call me everyday and ask me about life in general and all the while behaved as one of my best friend/brother and he disappeared with no phone call at all as soon as i said NO to my upline.
And i believe these all practices of theirs is whats turning people off.
Jayleno - me thinking sane is the reason you didn't hear from me in any malls/WM :) but I was a minority in BWW who believes in waiting till you find like minded people who are looking. cold contacting is just going against human instincts. you can't simply talk to a person about something to get his phone number and call them about this business next day. that is a reg flag right there. i couldn't do it and hence not with this business anymore. many of us are not ready to think about making millions in few short years. some people need to understand that you can't rub that idea with force on another human being.
in BWW terms, i was a quitter who can't take the business to the next level because I was afraid of rejection (getting a NO from prospects)..
