I find that people who claim supporting Macs is just a labor-intensive as supporting Windows machines are those who haven't implemented Macs properly and really don't know what they are doing.
Why do Windows machines use Group Policies? To push software out to machines, sure -but the real reason is to lock down machines that are by their very design security risks.
I have to use Windows 7 at work in order to run Cisco tools I use. It is a brand new machine, but nevertheless

I have had to fix the registry twice after installing Opera -if you install that into Windows 7 the system starts generating security errors and warnings, and you can no longer open hyperlinks in Outlook. This is Microsoft preventing you from installing 3rd party browsers into Windows 7 -I don't have these issues on my Mac (I run 3 browsers there)
2. Many 3rd party and legacy applications do not work correctly, even when run in compatibility mode. I had to rig the system to run some of these apps (more wasted time).
3. The antivirus slows down the system
I could go on and on, but this is a productivity issue: I am not as productive on Windows as I am on a Mac. Microsoft has been in disarray for years and it shows. Why on Server 2008 does the utility "Server Management" and "Manage Server" point to 2 totally different applications? Sounds like someone is shipping off projects to India and not paying attention.
Now before I get accused of MS bashing, I will point out that MS makes excellent front-end applications such as Office. This is where the company shines (Access is really great product). They just make crappy operating systems and servers.
If you use Open Directory and Preferences, you can control networked Macs. You can use shared libraries to further enhance this. Problem with a mac? Use screen sharing to go check it out. I put in a all-OSX network in a medical center not long ago -not one MS product used. It even included iPads that doctors would carry around to interface with a web-enabled database. Aside from a general question here and there, I never get called about serious system issues. That network is rock-solid.
People stick with MS because that is what they know, and they are scared of OSX/Macs. We are moving to a web-based infrastructure and the old client-server model that MS is based on is going away ...

I have fond memories of playing Atari 2600 with my cousins at my grandparents' house when I was little. I was late to the game buying a 2600 of my own (I got mine when NES was all the rage) but I still loved it and was very saddened when I found out my parents had sold my entire Atari kit, including dozens of games, at a garage sale for a measly $5!

My DP G5 and my 19" CRT monitor do a good job of keeping my bedroom in my 1 bedroom apt. pretty warm. (New England winters can get a bit cold)

The only people who want to compare it that way are apple fans. The rest of the world rightfully compare it according to device. Smartphone OS to smartphone OS.

You either have to do a one-to-one comparison of manufacturer to manufacture (that gives you revenue/number of handsets sold/profitability /market share, etc... Android has no revenue, only the manufacturers). Or you have to compare platforms, which includes all iOS devices and all Android devices capable of running apps such as PMPs, tablets and phones. Here, you can look at how much Google makes from ads generated by users of Android phones which, i think is a more valuable and telling metric. And one that would benefit the Android argument.
But the main point is: DEVELOPERS JUST DON"T CARE ABOUT iPHONE VS. ANDROID, or iPhone vs. HTC, or iPhone vs. anything. All they care about is how many people will have access to their app. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT COUNT! Not you, fandroids, or Apple lovers.

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.

I have owned three "small" cars. A 1988 Ford Tempo, a 1990 Geo Storm, and a 1995 Ford Probe. All three were solid cars. However I have not bought a small car in many years for one reason. It's not that "big" cars are better because they're big. It's because generally speaking, the gas mileage on most smaller cars isn't better than those of standard sedans. In some cases it's worse. Case in point: Nissan Versa vs. Nissan Altima 2.5SL. The Altima destroys the Versa in real world mileage. Plus you get the added room and comfort and features. The price is only slightly higher in terms of monthly payments.
Part of that is due to engine choices in the US: because many of the engines used by foreign car companies are not federalized, and because US carmakers largley ignore the small car market, we don't get the most efficient engines for small cars.
Case in point: look at small cars sold in both Europe and the US, like the Mini Cooper, Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus (different version, but same-ish size) or event the Smart. All of these cars come with smaller, more efficient engines in Europe, either as the base engine or as options. The US versions, however, all use larger, less efficient engines and omit the diesel options entirely. Thus, much of potential efficiency of these cars is wasted.
Therefore, it's not that the Altima is much more efficient than the Versa. Rather, the most efficient engine option in the Altima is as efficient as the rather inefficient engine that the Versa is saddled with here in the states. And it's our own fault, because Americans are stereotyped as demanding more powerful engines without regard to fuel economy.
The new Jetta and Passat are no exceptions - they get more engine choices outside the US.

Good news everyone!!! You guys remember the connecticut home invasion where Dr. William Petit, his two daughters and wife were brutally attacked in their home, and the daughters and wife were tortured, raped and murdered? Well, the trial for the second suspect is going on today, and he's probably getting the death penalty!! The first suspect, steven hayes, was already sentenced to death a few months back. Sounds like it will be same shape, same screen, same everything externally (hopefully a new antenna though). Explains the lack of parts since they will be using the same parts...
