Sometime I wonder if people actually use the products they talk about here.
The Rolling Stones have been in the iTunes music store for over a year. The currently have over 59 albums there and a new ep was released, I'm Free, just a couple of weeks ago.
Frank Zappa was on iTunes last summer and has since been removed. It was basically the albums that RYKODisc had re-mastered and released. There appears to be something going on with the Zappa Family Trust and RYKODisc over the rights.
Led Zepplin has never appeared on iTunes. However, Radio Head was on for a short time, but everyone who like Radio Head has already bought their one good album, The Bends.
Strange. I could have sworn I'd heard the Rolling Stones weren't on iTunes yet. Personally I HATE them, that's why I never checked.
Any other musicians not in the iTunes music store yet?

Wow, all of these vista versions, which one do I pick? I think I'm going to end up going with the Windows Really Good Edition (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/winrg.php).

How do you know that you are going to get a new one and not a refurbished one. And what old macbooks are you talking about, they didnt release any new ones yet. Thanks for the help. There is ZERO DIFFERENCE between a new Mac and a refurbished Mac - ZERO. You have nothing to fear buying a refurb any more than you have to fear buying a new one. Same warranty. Same quality. Different box. And sometimes when you buy a refurb, you get more than stock like two 1GB sticks of RAM and/or a bigger than stock HD for example.
Who the hell wants to watch movie on an iPod. You can't even watch 2 hours of video on the current iPod...think...the battery like will be even WORSE with a larger screen?!?!?
I want a merom macbook pro...right now!!!! I might buy a freeken dell if i have to wait any longer...and I hate windows... I am hoping they will update it on the website tomorrow...tues. sept. 5th....not likely though since they will need a new logic boards because they soldered the core duo chips in...how stupid. Hopefully they will make some other updates since they have to re-do stuff anyway.
Who cares about a new nano also...the current one is fine

I hope so. Same feeling I have about 3D TVs. Give me a better image and screw the gimmicks.
I think he meant his nano, that he owns, is personalized.
Thanks, that makes more sense.
Also, can anyone tell me if there's going to be gapless playback on the original nanos through a software update.
[EDIT] Does anyone know if the original iPod nano dock will work with the new nano? If I decide to upgrade, I'd rather not spend another $30 on a new dock.

Again as I stated before... Apple is really starting to dabble in the 3D interface. The album art is a good example of this. Granted its a rip off of someone else's idea...No idea of the name of the app but I was playing around with it a few months back that did exactly this. *shrugs* Whatever.
Do you mean CoverFlow? Yeah, its the same. And if by "rip off someone else's idea" you mean Apple bought CoverFlow and incorporated it into iTunes. This was already mentioned earlier in this thread, but here's a link: http://www.steelskies.com/coverflow/
BTW: The iTunes phone driver is for the Motorola ROKR E1, SLVR L7 and RAZR V3i.

The next time she sends him out to buy pads, I'll bet she's more specific...
:D Everyone made fun of the name when it first came out, now everyone's tagging "pad" onto their wannabe.

I don’t know if Apple systems take takes this into account for stock distribution, but LS would be one of the last places I’d expect to find an AT&T/GSM based iPad, given the US Headquarters for AT&T Mobility 1500 feet from the mall.
There are other stores, I like the one in North Point. Not too big and not the snobbery found at LS, IMHO. However, if you don’t have a car, I guess its kind of moot.
So Walmart is full of obese hillbillies?
I bought my iPad 2 at Walmart: 7 folks in line, 15 iPad 2's. Everyone was very nice. Im a 24yr old 6'2'', 190lb Systems engineer(with all my teeth)...and I shop there all the time. Dont hate...

I think it's simpler than that - Apple wasn't ready to tip their full hand, just whet everyone's appetite.
Hence us seeing an older, less complete build while the final version is still being polished.
For those who are expressing outrage that perfect and bug-free applications aren't being delivered - you couldn't afford them. While it can be done, it can't be done for consumer (or even "Pro") level pricing.
I don't about FCP but a lot of other PRO software has moved to yearly updates with maintenance subscription pricing to give users confidence.
I know in CAD/BIM Land we tend to buy this years release for last years features. Not that there aren't new features that will be really useful it takes us about a year to workout how to use them effectively, build that in to office system that can be used consistently and start training people only 3-6 months is the application developers ironing out the bugs.
To me Pro-software is no different to another member of staff, with all the same complications and relationship building energy before increased productivity comes a round.

Because you made a post that claimed our editing skills have nothing to do with creativiy or experience, but simply that 'knowing the software' is the only advangate we have.
That's not how I understood what he said at all,he put "professional" in quotes because he was being sarcastic,to me he meant that if someone is worried about the fact that more people can now operate a software because it's simpler to use/more affordable then they must not be a real pro because a real pro wouldn't worry about such things, they know that they have the creativity and experience that sets them appart.

No...I think the focus will be on the Macintosh at this year's MacWorld. Therefore I vote for #3. Imagine every new MacBook equipped with an AirPort card that can access AT&T's 3G network. No more searching for WiFi spots. You could access the Internet at fast speeds while cruising down the highway! Pretty cool. It would definitely catch the competition off guard.
THis is one of the most ridiculous posts I have read on this thread. Sorry. So you want Apple to go around the world creating contracts with all mobile operators in the world, so you can use 3G FOR FREE???!! Which isn't even available everywhere??!!.

Today's mythical creature isn't really mythical. The Gigantopithecus is an ancient form of the ape. There is speculation that it still exists and is the reason for yeti and Big Foot sightings. I guess that is the reason for including it in a mythical creatures display.

jeez, 8 whole mega pixels??? Wow fruit, welcome to you sure are being generous here. My android phone has 8mp and it came a full year ago... The pictures it takes are pretty sweet compared to my friends i(paidtomuch)phone4. I'm not trying to bash anyone but I see a lot of fruit boys on here saying they are OK with whatever fruity says. Ya'll really need to revolt or something because that's not right. I guess once the specs are finalized, we will see a 10+ mega pixel camera on either android or windows phone? I have no idea..
I will suggest that perhaps a physical side camera button like the Windows phone has for taking pictures would great because with a touchscreen it is hard to tell if you took a picture in a noisy environment when you can hear the click.
That is all.
PCP
You do understand that a ton of 8 MP cameras on a phone has been compared to the iPhone 4's 5 MP camera and the iPhone's camera still came out on top, right?

God, I hope so. I have been looking for a Dreamweaver replacement, not found anything yet. I have been using Pages to make epub books, like it for that more than I do InDesign. All of Adobe software is bloated, the new versions barely bring anything I need to the table, case in point...
I hated Dreamweaver every single second I used it, and made the switch to RapidWeaver instead. A lot cheaper, a lot easier to pick up, and will grow with you as your knowledge deepens. There is a huge community of third party developers that make themes, plug-ins & extensions, and the community of users & developers are pretty open-source about sharing information and providing trouble shooting when things go awry. You can download a working demo for free...

I just went to the Apple store and asked the dude there if he knows anything about when the new Macbook pros come out. He said it might be a while but it could even be tomorrow. They guy sounded genuine and I'm thinking if they wanted to release them tomorrow (March 16th); they would have known something by now. The other thing is that from the marketing point of view, I don't think it makes sense to release them before iPad. It's the first time iPad is being introduced so they probably want a strong initial sale to generate more buzz and momentum; they probably don't want people looking at a new Macbook pro when there's an iPad sitting right next to it.
Just my thought.
Just my thought.
LOL. YOu fell fgor it. Awesome :D
I didn't fall for it.
And you're an idiot.
Seriously, these forums are so Mac users can help one another. What kind of little person gets joy out of posting false information that could cause another person grief or concern?

Does that mean these Macrumors folk (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1109081) won't be buying an iPhone 5?
Uh... why? You would put your country in our economic tailspin of disaster to have a bigger military for the off-chance Russia invades? :D
we have our own economic tailspin to deal with ... and our taxes are already sky high.
instead of riding on the US Military coat-tails ... I would rather we put in a bigger share

I'm so glad I'm in Microcomputer Apps right now and have access to the internet, I just glanced at these specs and OMG they're pretty amazing, 24 inches instead of the 23 inch wow just wow.
I can't wait to walk into an Apple store and check these things out, that 24 inch screen has to be amazing!
