If the dates move forward in leaps and bounds it is because not enough cases are being processed; if the dates stay the same or more forward at a slow rate, it means that USCIS has a demand for Visa Numbers and they are being requested in a consistent pattern, so DOS does not have to advance cut off dates so drastically.

My EAD is set to expire Oct 8th 2008.
So I applied for renewal on Jun 16th via USPS express overnight mail to Texas.
I live in Pennsylvania so had to post it to TEXAS.
USCIS already cashed the check and sent me a receipt notice!
Seriously that was ultra fast.
Since they recently announced about 2 year EADs which will be issued from Jun 30 onwards, I am concerned that the fact that they cashed the check so fast, do you think they will also give me a EAD fast, that too before Jun 30th ? If they do will that be valid for one year or 2 years? If they wait for issuing, and if that happens after Jun 30, will that be a 2 year or a 1 year one?

It seems we are busy calculating $1= 42 Rupees all the time. Maybe we should reduce the recuring payments to Rupees 20. That will help everyone.

Got cencerned and on sept 14th called TSC created SR for non receipt of biometric appointment letter.(Only legal reason to complain as application is still under 90 days of application)
LUD on Sept 20th.
Called sept 27th afternoon again and told that notice as to how the SR will be processed. The processing time for SR was mentioned to be 60 days.:eek: Created an expedite request reason citing "sever financial loss to individual".
sept 27th 7:35 PM received approval emails for AP for spouse and self.:confused:
In short WTF?:mad: ... but eventually :D till next year around.

Recently I returned after a one month trip to India. At DC airport the CBP secondary inspection officer grilled us rough. First he called my wife and asked why did we leave US. She told that since my parents are old and not in good health we visited them. Then he started asking for documents proving it. And told us that without documents he won't let us enter. He went on to say that AP is only on humanitarian basis and unless CBP officer is satisfied with proof they cannot allow AP holder to enter. Finally after convincing him for another 30 min he let us in.
This was a really shocking experience. Are employment based GC's AP supposed to be treated like humanitarian AP? or was the CBP officer over reacting? Gurus please throw some light.

Have made several info pass appointments, the IO called Texas Service Center and spoke to the officer who has my application. the Texas service center replied to local IO that they will soon get to it. As of January 11, 2008 my application is sitting on the desk of the IO in Texas waiting to be adjudicated. However, with pending security clearance I am not sure when that would happen....Biometrics were done in July 2007.
Any advise is greatly appreciated

I know this takes work, but if the Core is looking for a person to pull together a Conference Call to compile this update and send it out, I would be glad to volunteer my services.

my thoughts, people can contriute, (a) money only (b) money and some personal time (to gather data and compile them) (c) money and personal time to organize state chapter meetings and meet with local autorities or senstors (this is state chapter leaders today) and (d) money + lot if time + lobbying (CORE)...

Working actively in those state chapters and contributing should be a good "pool" who can get these updates... also, this will encourage genuine people to participate proactively in state chapters and grow IV, which is the main goal for any grass-roots org.

I need your advice here. Six month ago i joined one of the many blood suckers -Desi cosulting company in new jersey. As you all know, they ask me to sign their contract in which its mention that if i leave their company before 1 year then i need to pay them 15k. Thy also charge me 3k for my H1-B which i am still paying everymonth from my paycheck and we have 70/30. In just six months i am so much fed up with them. These people are so rude...always show their arrogance over phone. I have no libarity to find job by myself. They always looking for higher pay rate sp that their big money tummy get filled up.and i also feel that they didnt told me the right pay rate for the project i am working on right now.
I really want to leave them, Even before 12 months. Is there any importance of that contract letter i signed with them?. Can they Sue me? What are my options? Please suggest me.....i am in stress.
