That's why we couldn't solve all the admin related issues then. If we had significant volume, we could have had visa re-stamping done in USA and the list goes on.. The problem here is not the immigration system it is sheer number of people who want to become permanent residents . The queues in Canada and Australia are far far far smaller so the point system works smoothly. The main disadvantage of the point based immigration system is that if the people in the line increase, the points will be immediately be increased so that fewer qualify .Then there will always be people like Lou Dobbs who will say that "potential immigrants will get points only if they make 240K a year and are 25 years of age". The UK is also restricting people by increasing the point based system. Now people who make 35,000 GBP a year do not get any points in the HSMP. The age also has been decreased in HSMP. So the point based system works where the queues are smaller unlike the US. ‘(1) to be physically present and residing in the United States for purposes of naturalization under section 316(a); and
‘(2) to meet the continuous residency requirements under section 316(b).
‘(b) Definitions- In this section:
‘(1) CANDIDATE COUNTRY- The term ‘candidate country’ means a country that the Secretary of State determines to be--
‘(A) eligible for assistance from the International Development Association, in which the per capita income of the country is equal to or less than the historical ceiling of the International Development Association for the applicable fiscal year, as defined by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development;

I am on a EAD. I wanted to switch to hourly basis and wanted to see if there are any direct vendors who would be ready to pay better rates. Desi Consulting Co. is out of question. From my experience, Robert Half is bad too. Is there a better way to market yourself..to the employer?

Your good fight on the retrogression issue kind of kept us going without giving up. In just a few days what some of you have done with www.immigrationvoice.org is amazing and it truly deserves a lot better than the faint response they have got so far from all of us in this legal black hole. Honestly, I do not care if we are not able to raise 100K dollars for the lobbying efforts for the next immigration bill on February. I don not care if this money is finally lost. It will be money well spent if we all realize that we have to do something instead of waiting years and years and years� Any money is worth the effort regarding our goals, even if our present intention does not succeed. Is worth it!!. Lets move on, hoping for the best� It is worth to try this next immigration bill. Any money spent on this is worth it� Can not you guys see it? More and more years on this black hole!! More years paying our lawyers for H1B renewal, more years for renewal of our driving licenses, more years for our wives to wait, more years for our employers exploiting us� This next immigration bill could be our last chance in many years to get our unfair and sad situation known and probably solved. We would at least raise enough concern about the absurd situation of the legal immigrants� It could be a new Quixote tale, I do not care� A good part of my next paycheck will go to immigrationvoice� Whatever� Keep America growing� America is not just them�. It is all of us� It has always been� It is what America is made of�
