comparing India and US by GDP does not make sense.(it is like comparing heaven and earth ..but though US may be rich ..the question is are you becoming rich here ..which varies from person to person) actually when you make a decision to go back ..the question to ask if do I have a better future in India or US. India is growing but you have rotten, stupid, dumbF, (you can keep adding adjectives here) politicians ..just see the recent quota policy endorsed by none other than Manmohan singh.

I recently visited India Western and Northern) after 4.5 years. I was totally shocked.. India has become better and better. But all better comes with some bad too. Like staying in USA has the same as well good and bad.
Anyways, we all made choice (we were not pushed/forced) to come here. Again, it is our own choice to go back if we want to. Also, if life in US is better or India is better, cannot be judged as it all depends on each individuals thinking and position.
I can tell you about my sister(Real sister), she and her family moved to Mumbai in 2006 and came back two months back. Both Sister and Bro-in-law were doing great here(became US citizens 5 years back), they wanted to move just because of kids. They came back because of their kids.

I tend to think a point system is better than what we have now. One thing though is that the points should be allocated "properly". For example, more points should be given to people with higher education, who earned a US degree, who have worked in the US for more years, who have paid more taxes, etc.
Someone mentioned a good point is about the visa number limits. If the per country limits are not eliminated, the points system won't solve the problem. Of course, they should also give more points to people who have passed Labor and I140 and allow them to adjust status right away. Otherwise, we will further get stuck in all the backlogs. Poor us. :(

I gave this idea last time when we were sending flowers to USCIS. Remeber the time when Gandhi decided to burn the official immigration document publically when he was in South Africa. I am not saying that we should burn our original I-797 etc, but lets symbolically burn the photo copies of our legal documents in form of a demonstration in front of media. If you have EAD, desi co will be willing to work on very small margin because they know you are an unchained tiger now and can run anywhere.

My question to all the gurus here...I wonder what happens to EAD and AP after you appeal 485 denial?
I know that if your 485 gets denied then EAD and AP are void but lets say OP files 485 MTR(motion to reopen), does he have to reapply for EAD and AP or does that get reinstated based on the reciept he gets on 485 MTR?
Should the person stop working till he gets 485 MTR receipt or till he reapplies for new EAD and gets the approval?
Just curoius to know as these days denials seems to be the trend at USCIS and it would be helpful for all those who rely on EAD only and not sure what to do when there is a 485 denials for what ever reason.

You do NOT have to apply for another EAD. You're safe to go back to work as soon as you receive your MTR receipt. I am sure most people work even while they're waiting for the MTR to be received by uscis though but shhh. I have never heard of a case where the uscis wanted to make sure the person didn't work while they were waiting for their MTR receipt to be sent out. Can you imagine them doing that to someone after their own officer denied the case in error resulting in an individual having to pay 500 bucks to reopen the case? Slap after slap in the face.
