sanjay , prinive - believe me folks, a lot of pushing is needed, not everyone are proactive like you and me. I guess you are in the tri state chapter - you can see for yourself, how many members are active and how many are not. As it turns out,even EAD is not helpful as it has several issues which dont give you the total independence to do what you intend to.

I totally understand.....they have set format of replies and they just keep on sending that as replies to SR...I doubt they even open a case or try to know the status of a case.
All the problems rose from opening the flood gates for all to apply in July 2007 and that simply created a bottleneck in the whole system and it prioritized receipt date of I-485 over the PD of labor filing.....

It is FBI that is responsible for namecheck ... not sure USCIS has any control over them. My understanding is I-485 premium processing would apply only to USCIS processing of the paperwork.

Thanks Paskal, I fully understand now with the example of the Scarlett Letter. I need to get busy and get another waiver then. Maybe I wasnt very clear on my first post about my stauts. I had had only a first J1 from 2002 to 2005. I wanted to stay so I got a waiver that time, and I tried to get a H1B, but I couldnt get it due to expired documents that I could not get renew from my country so my H1B was denied. Now some years later I decide to come back and the only fast way to come was with another visa J1. So as you explained I need to get my case number and start my process all over again. ONce I get the waiver I will look for a new sponsor and star the H1B process all over again. I cant be very open about this because if my present sponsor realizes that I am doing waiver and everything else I may loose my J1 because I signed a contrat to work for them for 3 years and then go back home. I think it is very unfair, but that is how things work around here.

Mine took 8 days after the online status changed to approved-so don't worry. It's funny, on their website, they said documents mailed on sept 10, but i rcvd them on sept 17th. When i rcvd the AP, i realized the documents were mailed on sept 13-sept -- so don't blindly trust what is online.
There was a black line---uscis printer completely screwed up-and the first line of the address on mailing envelope and the address was completely un-readable. I am not sure how we even got it in mail.

I wouldn't care to much if they steamline the process and make all EB categories "Current". If you submit the right documentation these days i-140 does not take more than an month.
But if the retrogression is like this then as well a retrogressed person does not care as in any case he cannot file together. The only people who are affected is the people who are eligible to apply for both with the PD as current. But how many people are there now in that frame of benefit.
So I really feel it should not bother us too much especially people from India. If I am wrong correct me.

Is there a conspiracy, first there was delays in the processing of the EADs, now there is delay in the production of the EAD cards...

My EAD renewal took almost 90 days to get approved, and my employer was ready to let me go if I did not get the approval before my EAD expired. Just made it with 2 days to spare.
Why every discussion has to end with donate - why donate? What IV has done so far? Where the money goes? EB2 vs EB3... etc. Stop hijacking threads.
