My labor and H1B all have the old #. Is there a need to do anything with the new passport number wrt to my existing H1 and labor and such?

It is the law that you file AR-11 within (I think) 10 days after moving to a new address. If you do not do say, technically they can deport you. So send the AR-11 form with proof of sending. You can also submit AR-11 form online.

You should also change the address on the USCIS site. This operation is different from AR-11 submission.

I have H1 approval I-797 with me (received in last year quota) and H4 approval (which was applied before applying H1). Now I have a family emergency back home. I have to travel asap. My current H4 stamp in the passport is expired. So I have to go for stamping, either it be using H1 or using H4. Since I am unemployed at present I can't use H1 for stamping. If I come back on H4, what will happen to my H1 status? Will it be still valid to accept an employment or becomes void.

Please share your thoughts...

You are in H-1 status now as you applied for COS from H4 to H-1. So I am not sure if going for H4 stamping is still an option for you. I will let others weighin on this one.

Do you have AP instead? You can always come back on AP, doing so will not invalidate your H-1

Based on my experience travelling with my son couple of times, I can answer couple of questions.

PIO card looks just like your Indian Passport, difference being color and has just 1 page.
Just present PIO and the US PP and they will look at both and stamp the immigration seal on the PP. They do not do anything with the PP other than recording the PIO # in addition to the US PP #.

While departing the country, they will just look at it again and hand it back and stamp the immigration seal on the PP.

Usually takes 3-4 weeks to get and if you dont have time, I would go with a visa as you can get it the same day. For an infant, I see no diffrence in PIO or a visa.
the only difference for an infant is if you are going to leave him in india for a while. with a pio you can stay for longer than 6 months.

If you apply for extnsion, please keep in mind your parents stays in US until you receive their approval extension. If they travel outside the while case pending and if they try to renter before case is approved, they will deny at POE and cancel and 10 Year multiple visa. Be very careful here.

I applied for an extension for my mother-in-law. It was approved several months after her I-94 expiration date. But she left to India two days before her I-94 expiration date. I even sent a letter asking them to cancel/withdraw my application. They didnt care and went ahead and approved. When it came, it was pretty much useless!

What I heard was, when you apply for an extension, the stay after I-94 expiration date is approved by US Attorney general for certain number of days. We didn't pursue that option since we thought that it could jeopardize her subsequent trip.

Can someone please post all the documents required for filing AC21 ?

You don't need any document to invoke AC21, if you are on H1b, do the H1b transfer based on I-485 receipt and if you are using EAD, just go and join other company.

You will receive RFE, at that time you need to show that you have paystub,experience letter etc and you have used AC21(180 days pending).
